Thank you for visiting the SportWaiver web site!  We are making a few changes to the website to mark the beginning of our second year on the Web. Please take a look around and tell us what you think.  If you have any Questions or Suggestions, please feel free to contact us and let us know.

SportWaiver.com brings you invaluable information about risk management in the areas of sport and recreation, with particular emphasis on one of the most effective risk management tools – liability waivers.  In the next few weeks we plan to begin a series of articles that will help to clarify a lot of your questions about insurance.

Regular readers already know that many of the articles are written by the editors, but that many others are written by other experts in various areas of risk management. The editor welcomes submissions by others with expertise in risk management in sport or recreation. Informative articles will be published in a timely manner.

    • Coming on September 15We will publish an article by Holly C. Rudolph which will serve as a great resource for many readers. She has compiled all Recreational Land Use statutes and all Equine Activity Liability statues in one place.
    • For those of you interested in waivers for minors signed by a parent, see the recent article written by “Sandie” Pendleton summarizing the latest ruling by the Michigan Supreme Court. For the entire court ruling, click here.
    • A recent Florida statute allows parents to sign waivers releasing their rights to sue for injuries caused by the inherent risks of an activity. Note, however, that the statute does not allow the release of liability for injuries caused by negligence! Click here for more.
